Care Garden Therapy was founded by two practitioners who’d spent years inside the world of disability and mental health support and who kept noticing the same thing.
Families were tired. Worn out from waitlists, from being passed between services, from explaining their kid from scratch to every new face that walked through the door. Support workers were doing their best with plans that weren’t built for real life. And practitioners – the people who actually wanted to do this work well – were stretched so thin they couldn’t be the kind of clinicians they trained to be.
We’re also Neurodivergent. That part matters. It means we’ve sat on both sides of the table – as clinicians, yes, but also as people who have lived in the world this work is trying to make easier. When we say neuroaffirming, we’re not borrowing the word. We’re describing how we actually think.
We wanted to build something different. A practice to know every family by name. Practitioners with the time to show up properly. Plans written for the people who actually use them. And a quiet, deliberate kind of growth – adding the right people, never just more people.
We work with children, teenagers, and adults across the Perth and (add Western Australia- regional and remote), and we’re committed to culturally safe, trauma-informed practice.
Not sure if we’re a fit? Give us a ring. A ten-minute conversation usually sorts it.
First, a yarn. We meet you wherever feels comfortable. No assessments yet- just a conversation about what’s going on and what you’re hoping for.
Then, we get to know the person. Through visits at home, school, or in the community, plus chats with the people who matter to them. We’re looking for patterns, strengths, and the things that make hard moments harder.
Together, we build the plan. Strategies you can actually use, written for real life, with everyone who supports the person on the same page.
And we stick around. PBS works over months, not weeks. We adjust as your family changes, check in between visits, and keep things moving.
Care Garden Therapy is committed to operating to the highest standards of behaviour support practice. Our practitioners are registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission and meet all training and supervision requirements for the role.
